SMC PENTAX-M 135mm f3.5
1975년 이전에는 M42 스크류 마운트가 사용되었다. 그것을 대체해서 바요넷 마운트가 등장했다. 처음 바요넷 마운트로 제작되었던 K 렌즈들은 나중에 만들어지게 되는 M렌즈들보다 사이즈와 무게가 컸다.
1977년부터 새로운 패러다임이 생겨났고 펜탁스에서는 큰 사이즈의 K 렌즈 대신 컴팩트한 M 렌즈들을 생산하기 시작했다. 이 새로운 컴팩트 렌즈(M 135mm f3.5)는 펜탁스가 생산한 가장 매끄럽고 고급스러운 렌즈 중 하나였으며, 초점 링의 순수한 부드러운 움직임은 그 자체로 순수한 촉각적 즐거움을 준다.
1975 had seen a new range of bayonet mount Pentax cameras and lenses, largely based on the screw thread lenses that preceded them, but by 1977 the new paradigm was for compact kit and gradually the M series replaced the larger K series. These new compact lenses were arguably some of the smoothest and classiest lenses Pentax had ever produced, and the sheer silky movement of the focusing rings is in itself a pure tactile pleasure.

시그마 수동 70-200으로 촬영했을 때와는 화질, 느낌이 다르다.
진득한 색감이 묻어나오면서도 선명함을 보여준다.
Olympus E-M10 Mark III와 EOS-M 등에 이 렌즈를 장착했을 때 조합이 매우 좋았다. 특히 미러리스 카메라의 시대에 알맞는 컴팩트한 사이즈의 펜탁스 렌즈는 궁합이 좋다는 느낌을 받았다.

SMC Pentax-M 135mm f3.5
There are two versions of the SMC Pentax 135mm f/3.5, a plain SMC Pentax (introduced in 1975) and a SMC Pentax-M (introduced in 1977) version. The lens in the review is the latter one. The two lenses have a different optical design, and there is quite some difference in weight. The SMC Pentax weighs 365 grams and is 2.2 cm longer. SMC Pentax-M 135mm f3.5
Build quality is very high, the lens is made from nothing but metal apart from the rubber on the focus ring. Tolerances are very tight. The black finish seems to be very scratch resistant, my sample still looks like new. Also my sample is completely free of internal dust, something I have never seen before in such old lenses. All markings are engraved and filled with paint The focus ring has a very pleasant resistance and travels ~215° from MFD to infinity. The aperture nicely clicks with 1/3 of a stop click stops between f/3.5 and f/4 and 1/2 stop click stops between f/4 and f/22 and with another click at f/32. Distance between the clicks is small, so it is not easy to set the aperture between two clicks.
The lens also features a build in hood made of metal. When extended the hood sits tight enough, but is a bit wobbly.
Due to its small size the Pentax feels very well balanced on my a7II, its form factor is a big plus to me.

초점 링은 매우 쾌적한 저항성을 가지고 있으며 MFD에서 무한대까지 약 215° 이동합니다. 조리개는 f/3.5와 f/4 사이에서 1/3 스톱 클릭 스톱, f/4와 f/22 사이에서 1/2 스톱 클릭 스톱, f/32에서 다시 클릭으로 잘 클릭됩니다. 클릭 사이의 거리가 좁기 때문에 조리개를 두 클릭 사이에 설정하기가 쉽지 않습니다.
렌즈에는 금속으로 만든 내장 후드도 있습니다. 후드를 펼치면 충분히 단단하게 고정되지만 약간 흔들립니다. 이 펜탁스 렌즈는 크기가 작아서 a7II에 아주 잘 어울리고, 폼 팩터는 저에게 큰 장점입니다.
Flare resistance
With the sun just outside the frame things look different, the Canon shows the least veiling flare of these lenses and I think this is a good performance especially considering the age of the lens. The Panagor shows a huge flare across most of the frame that ruins the image. The Pentax shows a purple veiling flare but as it decreases gradually towards the center it is not as obtrusive as the flare of the Panagor.
None of these lenses has very good flare resistance, the Pentax is a bit better than average with the sun in the frame, and the other two show an average performance here. With the sun just outside the frame the Canon performs above average, the others are average here.
프레임 바로 바깥에 태양이 있으면 상황이 달라 보입니다. Canon은 이 렌즈 중 베일링 플레어가 가장 적고, 특히 렌즈의 나이를 고려하면 좋은 성능이라고 생각합니다. Panagor는 프레임 대부분에 걸쳐 엄청난 플레어가 나타나 이미지를 망칩니다. Pentax는 보라색 베일링 플레어가 나타나지만 중앙으로 갈수록 점차 감소하므로 Panagor의 플레어만큼 눈에 띄지 않습니다.
이 렌즈 중 어느 것도 플레어 저항성이 매우 좋지 않습니다. Pentax는 프레임에 태양이 있을 때 평균보다 약간 더 좋고, 다른 두 개는 평균적인 성능을 보여줍니다. 프레임 바로 바깥에 태양이 있을 때 Canon은 평균 이상의 성능을 보이고, 다른 렌즈는 평균입니다.

결론
예전에는 이 렌즈의 장점을 잘 몰랐었다. 타쿠마 105mm나 SMC 펜탁스 200mm를 주로 사용했었기 때문이기도 하다. 하지만 오랜 세월이 지나서 이 렌즈를 올림푸스와 캐논 미러리스 카메라에 장착해서 사용해보니 앞서 말한 것처럼 컴팩트함, 우수한 화질과 선명도를 보여준다. (선예도라고 표현하고 싶지는 않다.) 해외 포토그래퍼들의 대다수의 의견도 이 렌즈는 훌륭한 렌즈라고 평가하고 있다. 지금 시대에 잘 어울리는 빛나는 렌즈처럼 보인다.
* 참고로 M 렌즈가 컴팩트하다는 장점이 있지만 그 이전 시대에 만들어진 K 렌즈가 더 선예도가 높다고 알려져 있다.
